How Do I Become A Christian?
Perhaps there's a nudging at your heart, but you don't know what it is. You feel something going "God is real and you need Him!" over and over again. Or, maybe you've known about God for a very long time but never took a step of faith and invited Him to become the Lord and Savior of your life, but now you're ready to take that step. It doesn't matter how God's been talking to you, you aren't here by accident, especially if you've read this far. God brought you here! He wants you! And we want to help you let Him into your life.
If you would like to let Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior, there is first a couple of things you must know and understand.
- You must know that you are a sinner and that the wages of sin is death.
- Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
- Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
- You must know that God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins.
- Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
- Finally, you must know that because this is a gift of God, all you have to do is believe with your heart and confess with your mouth, and you will be saved!
- Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved."
You see, you and I both have sinned and are nowhere near how we created to be. Because of this, we all deserve to die and pay the consequences for our sin. But, because God loves us so much, He sent His Son to die on the cross and pay our sins for us. He then rose from the dead and took His rightful place in Heaven.
If you can truly believe this and wish to become a Christian today, just simply say the following prayer and believe it in your heart.
Dear God, I know I am a sinner and I repent of my sins. I believe you sent Your Son, Jesus, to die for me on the cross and that He rose again on the third day. Jesus, I confess you as Lord and ask that You come into my life as my Savior and Lord. In Your Name I pray, Amen.
If you just said this prayer, you have just become a Christian! If you would like more information about this new relationship you have begun with Christ, please feel free to

Sharing Your Faith With Others
One-on-One Evangelism
Do you want to share your faith but aren't sure exactly how? Here are a few steps to help you out.
First Things First
Before doing any personal evangelism, I would
strongly recommend writing your testimony down. A testimony should contain 3 parts:
- Before Christ - What was your life like before Christ came in?
- Getting Saved - Why did you decide to give your life to Christ?
- With Christ - How is your life different now that you have Christ in it?
Before Going Out
Before you go out to share Jesus, PRAY! It is one of the most important things you can do! Pray that God will work in the lives of the people you speak to and pray that He will guide you in your words and actions.
Sharing your Faith
There are many different options with one-on-one. I will share three common methods below:
- Share Your Testimony - This is why I told you to write it down! Maybe you want to tell people your testimony and then tell them God wants to do the same for them!
- Gospel Tracts/Booklets - Maybe you would rather use a tract or booklet to get things started. There are some pretty interesting tracts out there!
- Ten Commandments - It's how Way of the Master does it. Ask them if they think they're a good person, then ask if they've broken various commandments (such as lying, stealing, using God's name in vain, etc...) and ask if they still think they're a good person.
No matter which way you choose, it is good to strike up a conversation first and get to know the person for a couple minutes so it comes down to a more personal level between the two of you. Conversation can also help ease the tension on your part.
If you aren't sure what verses to use when sharing how christ could save them from eternal damnation, I would recommend using the Roman Road to Salvation.
Here is a good site that shows the Roman Road
AND DON'T FORGET TO PRAY!!!
